What's new at Bloomsbury
Bloomsbury is delighted to announce a new distributorship for 2008. We have been appointed sole UK & Ireland distributors for the beautiful Louet North America range of yarns. We will be showing these beautiful yarns and knitting patterns at the Stitches Show in February at the NEC. Please do come and visit us.
Pictured to the left is the beautifully drapey Louet Euroflax which is absolutely perfect for Spring and Summer knitting.
Other popular lines from Louet include MerLin and KidLin which are Merino and Kid Mohair yarns, blended with Euroflax linen. Ingenious!
There are some lovely Spring/Summer patterns from Filatura di Crosa which will be appearing shortly. Some of the patterns are from the American 2007 pattern book, but are very wearable for this season. A new selection for 2008 will be launched imminently.
Pictured to the right is a buttonless waiscoat, very versatile and knitted in Filatura di Crosa Ariel. There are some easy knits and also some that are more challenging for the more experienced knitters. Other Summer yarns by Filatura include an excellent range of Egyptian cottons and also 'Luxury' a 100% silk 4 ply weight. As one would expect from Filatura, the colour palette is fabulous.
We were delighted to have this stunning sweater (pictured left) featured on the front page of Knitting Magazine, February Issue 47. The sweater pictured has been knitted using Filatura di Crosa Superior in Shade No.2, Off White.
This romantic and floaty design was perfect for their Valentine's issue and has proved to be very popular. We just need more retailers to help us supply the ever increasing demand from customers.
There are more exciting designs to be featured in Let's Knit, Knitting Magazine and Simply Knitting in the coming season and months ahead.
Bloomsbury will be introducing another range of exceptional glass buttons from the Czech Republic. The buttons are produced in North Bohemia, which is known as the 'Glass Capital' of the world, with a glass history dating back as far as 1376. The buttons we are importing are from a very small family run business with a 100 year old button factory ~ it is the only original remaining factory still producing buttons in the Czech Republic.
The buttons are finished by hand using only the finest materials and many of the moulds are 100 years old. The are an exquisite decorative item for a garment, bag or for making jewellery.
If you would like further information regarding the Czech Glass Buttons, please send us an email.
You will find a superb selection of yarns for the new season from Trendsetter and Lane Borgosesia. We are highlighting only a couple of them here, but if you visit the website you will discover a host of beautiful fibres to inspire you.
The beautiful 'Amethyst Shawl' pictured to the left was designed by Sian Brown and featured in the UK's 'Knitting' Magazine in November 2007. It makes a fabulous party shawl and uses the very popular Trendsetter Segue Ribbon and Trendsetter Dune.
There will be more patterns featuring in the UK magazines throughout the year, with continued promotion and advertising to help our retailers.
